Integrated Marketing and Digital Support
ARINC was an international provider of communications, information processing and technology services for the aviation industry, working with airports, airlines and other transport organisations around the world. Its UK operation was based in Crawley, close to London Gatwick Airport, and its airport business included passenger processing, airport systems and aviation information services.
Our Work with ARINC
The team behind Sussex Web Designs began working with ARINC through Averma in 2009, supporting its UK and EMEA marketing team based in Crawley. The relationship developed into a long-term outsourced marketing production role, with our team working closely with ARINC’s internal marketers across a broad range of digital and offline projects.
Rather than supporting one isolated campaign or website, the work covered much of ARINC’s day-to-day marketing output. This included website design and development, digital marketing, search engine optimisation, paid advertising and the production of marketing material for its airport products and services.
The relationship continued after ARINC was acquired by Rockwell Collins in 2013. During that period, our work also supported the transition of the ARINC brand and marketing materials into the Rockwell Collins organisation.
Projects and Services
Website work formed a significant part of the relationship. We designed and developed a number of microsites, product websites and campaign landing pages for ARINC’s different airport products and services. These ranged from focused sites supporting individual products through to larger digital projects designed to explain specialist aviation technology to customers across the EMEA market.
Our digital marketing work included ongoing search engine optimisation and paid search advertising, primarily through Google, alongside campaigns using platforms such as Bing. We also developed mobile applications and supported other digital requirements as they arose.
Beyond websites and online marketing, the relationship covered a substantial amount of marketing production. Our team created sales and marketing collateral, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, printed material and video content for ARINC’s internal marketing team.
We also supported ARINC’s presence at aviation events and trade shows. This included producing exhibition collateral, banner graphics and large-format graphics for physical trade show stands, ensuring campaign and product material could be carried consistently from digital marketing into face-to-face industry events.
Working with ARINC
The ARINC relationship is a good example of how the team behind Sussex Web Designs has worked as an extension of an internal marketing department rather than simply supplying individual website projects.
Working closely with the UK and EMEA marketing team over several years meant understanding ARINC’s products, audiences and internal requirements well enough to support a continuous flow of work across different formats. A website might be followed by paid advertising, printed collateral, presentation material or exhibition graphics for the same product or campaign.
The Crawley-based relationship also gives Sussex Web Designs direct experience of supporting a major international technology business operating from the Gatwick area. Although ARINC worked globally, much of our day-to-day collaboration took place with its marketing team in Sussex.
When Rockwell Collins acquired ARINC, the relationship continued through the transition, including work associated with updating branding and marketing material. This meant supporting an established marketing operation while the business moved into a much larger international organisation.
